Recently, SmartSens (stock code 688213), a technologically advanced CMOS image sensor supplier, launched the "Dark Light King" Star Light (SL) ultra star level full HD intelligent security application image sensor - SC285SL. The product is based on SITWEI SmartClarity ®- Crafted with 3 technological processes and equipped with SmartAOV ® 2.1 SFCPixel ®、 Lightbox IR ® Equipped with multiple advanced technologies, it has performance advantages such as high sensitivity, low noise, and high dynamic range, which can significantly improve the imaging quality of AI black light full-color cameras in extremely low light outdoor scenes, allowing the camera to achieve clear and delicate full-color image capture without the need for supplementary lighting. At the same time, SC285SL supports full-time video recording (AOV) and has been comprehensively optimized for power consumption and high temperature performance, providing reliable support for the all-weather stable operation of outdoor wireless cameras and other solar and battery powered equipment.

High sensitivity and low noise

Create a clear dark full-color vision

Compared to ordinary infrared or starlight cameras, AI black light full-color cameras require image sensors to capture clear and clean raw image data in low light environments, in order to better cooperate with AI ISP technology algorithms for processing. SC285SL is equipped with SITWEI SFC Pixel ® Advanced technology, with excellent sensitivity and noise suppression performance, can easily capture clear and delicate full-color images for AI black light full-color cameras in extremely dark outdoor scenes at night.


High sensitivity

Black light full-color cameras typically require supplementary lighting to achieve color imaging in low light environments. SC285SL is equipped with the patented SFCPixel from Skyway ® Technology, with a pixel size of 4.0 μ m, a sensitivity of up to 12236mV/lux * s, and an SNR1s value as low as 0.1lux, can help the camera achieve clear, bright, and true color full-color images in extremely low outdoor lighting conditions without fill light.

And, SC285SL is equipped with Lightbox IR ® Near infrared enhancement technology significantly improves near-infrared sensitivity, with a peak quantum efficiency (peak QE) of up to 40% in the 850nm band and approximately 25% higher in the 940nm band compared to previous generation products, providing brighter and clearer near-infrared imaging effects.

SC285SL is equipped with SITWEI SFC Pixel ® Patent technology, supporting CMS2 and CMS4 related multi sampling modes as well as 12 bit quantization mode, with excellent noise suppression performance. The reading noise (RN) of SC285SL under high gain long exposure is as low as 0.82e -, significantly reduced by about 39% compared to previous generation products, which can make the dark light imaging image cleaner and the details clearer.

SmartAOV ® 2.1 Upgrading Technology

24/7 stable video recording

SC285SL is equipped with SmartAOV, a brand new upgraded version from Skyway ® 2.1 Technology, supports all time video recording (AOV, Always On Video) function. When there is no event trigger, SC285SL continuously records at a low frame rate of 1 frame per second in low-power mode; When triggered by an event, the SC285SL can quickly switch to regular frame rate recording at 30fps, ensuring complete and uninterrupted image information, achieving 24/7 video recording, and adapting to outdoor wireless cameras and other solar and battery powered equipment applications.

Compared to previous generation technologies, SmartAOV ® 2.1 Technology has the following upgrade advantages:

·Fast start time optimization: By significantly reducing the number of register configurations, the CIS startup speed and image transfer efficiency have been further improved.

·New dynamic power consumption indicator function: By controlling the triggering time of the rising and falling edges of the fill light, precise synchronization between fill light and CIS exposure can be achieved, eliminating ineffective power consumption during non exposure periods

·Multiple CIS quick start linkage: In master-slave mode, it can achieve rapid start and exposure synchronization of multiple CIS in multi camera schemes, reducing shooting delay and improving shooting response speed.

·Image processing effect enhancement: Increase the CIS automatic white balance function to 16x gain, broaden the color temperature range, and achieve more accurate image color reproduction.

·Support interrupt mode: After CIS completes startup, it can actively send reminder signals to the main control SoC without the need for the main control to read the startup status of CIS through registers, reducing the occupation of main control resources and improving operational efficiency.


Low power consumption and high-temperature performance optimization

In remote suburban areas, rural roads and other outdoor scenes, wireless cameras powered by solar energy or batteries have gradually become the mainstream choice for security monitoring. However, these devices often face difficulties such as long-term continuous shooting and outdoor high temperature environments in their applications. Based on the advanced SmartClarity technology from SITWEI ®- The SC285SL has performance advantages such as low power consumption and stable high-temperature imaging, which can fully meet the long-term and high-temperature shooting needs of intelligent security applications such as wireless cameras.

Based on the precise control design of internal circuit modules, the power consumption of SC285SL is as low as 91mW, 148mW, and 205mW at 30fps, 60fps, and 90fps working frame rates, respectively, which can effectively reduce camera shooting heat and assist in the long-term stable operation of security monitoring.


High temperature performance optimization
The sc285SL adopts the advanced SmartClarity from STMicroelectronics ®- 3 process technologies, stable high-temperature imaging performance. Under high temperature conditions of 80 ℃, the dark current and white pixel of SC285SL are significantly reduced by about 91% and 43% respectively compared to the previous generation product, making it suitable for outdoor high temperature and equipment long-term recording heating situations, helping the camera output stable and clear image surfaces.


Multiple high dynamic range modes

Comprehensive capture of light and dark details

SC285SL is equipped with advanced InSensor HDR technology from SITWEI ™ Technology, with a dynamic range of up to 92dB, can meet the video shooting needs of security monitoring in outdoor environments with different lighting conditions. InSensor HDR ™ Supporting three gain ratios of DR100, DR200, and DR400, it can flexibly adapt to various lighting scenarios ranging from uniform lighting to strong contrast between light and dark, making the camera image accurate and clear. And based on InSensor HDR ™ On chip single frame multi gain image fusion technology, SC285SL achieves high dynamic range while effectively suppressing motion ghosting, providing accurate dynamic image information without ghosting for the camera. In addition, SC285SL also supports Staggered HDR mode, which can effectively enhance dynamic range, preserve more light and dark details, and flexibly adapt to customers' diverse application choices.

SC285SL has currently accepted samples and will be mass-produced in Q1 2026.
